I have a soft spot for post apocalyptic themed movies and comics etc. and was watching the movie `A boy and his dog´ (from 1975) one night which got me inspired. This is what became of that inspiration.
Hey, I´m all over the place. One minute I´m here, the next I´m gone, one minute I´m on cghub, the next minute it´s gone. Thanks a ton and I´ll try to keep the hussle going (even though I have no idea what that actually means )!
it's slang for 1- acting aggressively in your bussiness dealings 2- for gettin your paper( makin money) 3- to stayin on point....makin things happen for yourself so...(EXample). your gettin your hussle on....(you are making your money)
it also has it's negative meanings 1- like stealing/ theft 2- deceiving someone (example) mang...you got hussle.....( you got trick)
While...english is the common language is the USA...there are multiple meanings for the same words. specially where a person is from(region)....or where its being use.......so in this particular inference...its just urban speech. but it can have a whole different meaning...depending who is using it n who it's being said to or talk about.
Sometimes I forget that in DA...we have folks from other regions of the world...where you do speak textbook english and not slang.
But in your case it's all good....I was sayin.....that you're doing your hussle(ART) by being active and like you said..posting everywhere.
hope that helps and gives you a better take on it.
btw...i went and watched...Bladerunner..after seeing your piece!
While we do have english taught to us from around age 10 or so and we get tons of american tv-shows and movies here a lot of slang does get lost on us since you basically need to live in a place to pick that kind of stuff up. Thanks for clearing that up. I´ll make sure to act aggressively in business, make shit happen and get a ton of money as well as stealing stuff and tricking people And Bladerunner is a masterpiece that can be rewatched over and over again.
Man, then I really need to hussle seeing as I´m a pretty skinny guy. I´m a big fan of Ridley Scott in particular. Bladerunner is a masterpiece for sure and Alien is one of the greatest movies ever made as well. His movies has been somewhat uneven later on but they´re always really beautifully shot and nice looking.
Yeah..I'm too!!.....I probably seen his films....somewhere in 100views.... think Prometheus is a perfect example of that!(His movies has been somewhat uneven later on but they´re always really beautifully shot and nice looking.) I love the opening sequence. the story falls apart, right around the 2nd act....it goes all over the place. I think if it would have been in the 80's more people would have seen it...n a greater discussion would have happen. But word of mouth...made me not want to see it( I still did)....I plan to get the blue-ray....when it's not so pricy. I'll watch all the extras...see if there's something I miss.....Your're right...it was beautifully shot....But I want more than that...I want a good story too....while there are a lot of interesting elements....I think as the audience...with so many films....I was expecting more.
Thank you! I don´t often tackle commissions but it does happen. I always prefer to talk stuff like that privately though. If you have something in mind feel free to send me a note here on dA and I can take a look at the idea, my schedule etc then.
Hey here as well, Fryda! Thanks for all the love on tumblr and facebook I am working on a script for my own GN at the moment. Gonna take ages to get it done though. I´d love to get to do other comics on the side as well.
I hadn't said this yet, part of the draw with your work is your characters have so much definitive 'tude displayed, you can already hear what they sound like in your head, know what they're about. So important when telling stories!
I'm partial to the post-apoc stuff, it's easy to win me over: [link]
